OVERVIEW
Utah Symphony Principal Horn Jessica Danz and her husband, trumpeter Christopher Danz, perform as part of this popular annual event connecting arts, culture, and nature. A guide will take you on a leisurely, 1.5 hour hike and you’ll enjoy seven unique performances, as well as visual artworks, along the journey. Be inspired by art in unexpected ways in this immersive experience on the McLeod Creek Trail in Park City, presented by the Arts Council of Park City and Summit County.

Jessica Danz, from Spanish Fort, Alabama, joined the Utah Symphony as Principal Horn in 2021. She received a Master of Music degree from The Juilliard School in 2020 studying with Jennifer Montone, and she holds a Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in Social and Emotional Development as well as a Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. Jessica has held fellowships with the New World Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, Music Academy of the West, Texas Music Festival, and Pacific Music Festival. Jessica was selected as a winner of the 2019 National Repertory Orchestra concerto competition, won first prize at the 2016 Northeast Horn Solo Competition, and was the recipient of the 2018 International Horn Society Jon Hawkins award.
Christopher Danz, from Naples, Florida, is a trumpet freelancer in the Salt Lake City area. He has performed with the Utah Symphony, Ballet West, New World Symphony, and Utah Festival Opera. He is currently second trumpet of the Billings (MT) Symphony. Christopher received his Bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music studying with James Thompson and his Master’s degree from The University of Miami. He was a semi-finalist in both the Solo and the Ensemble Divisions of the National Trumpet Competition.
