OVERVIEW

Mozart and Salieri—these two composers are forever linked by myth, rivalry, and masterful music. Come hear some of the best of both, including Mozart’s playful Figaro Overture and his elegant Symphony No. 38 “Prague,” named after the city where Mozart debuted the work in 1787. But don’t dismiss Salieri—he and Mozart were both 18th century rock stars, vying for audiences and royal commissions alike.

More than 200 years later, Salieri may not be as well known (except for that alleged poisoning incident – thanks, Hollywood!), but his refined works, like Prima la musica poi le parole, dazzled audiences of the day. We pair these two composers together and leave you to decide—Mozart vs. Salieri—who would you choose?
